Sales Consultant
Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk provides expert advice to our customers on the environmental footprint of agri-food products using an Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. As a Sales Consultant you will be responsible for the B2B sales of our consultancy services targeted at sustainability experts in the agri-food domain. Our expert consultants will support you in writing the proposals, but you will own the process. In your daily work you will expand our business and will be the first points of contact for prospects and leads. You will be responsible for establishing customer rapport, initiating the first contacts, assessing the viability of potential client cases, providing creative solutions, and owning the sales process from start to finish.
This includes keeping track of our sales funnel, administration in our CRM system, daily conversations with potential leads as well as our expert consultants, translating customer needs to actionable consultancy solutions, and the proactive identification and communication towards potential new clients. Your creativity and customer-oriented mindset will play a big role in this. You will establish networks with industry specialists, maintain relationships with our key customers, and play a major role in negotiating deals.
Present Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk’s capabilities and offerings to leads (most of which will be LCA specialists, sustainability managers or sustainability data managers)
Research the functional requirements of an opportunity, and scope and develop a detailed, precise and practical proposal document, together with the consultancy/software teams
Act as a liaison between the Sales team and the consultancy team - ownership of the lead
Negotiate on consultancy contracts, software License Agreements, EULAs (user agreements), SLAs
Optimize and reduce conversion time of new leads
Develop and maintain client relationships over time
Attend relevant conferences and industry events
Ensure Mérieux NutriSciences | Blonk reaches its sales targets
Coaching and supporting consultants in creating new customer relationship within their sector expertise (horticulture, animal production systems, retail, crops, etc.)
Setting, reviewing, updating pricing models
Completed Higher professional education or University degree (ideally Master)
5-8 years of work experience in a commercial role
Very good communication skills in English + ideally also fluency in 1 other EU language (German/French/Spanish/Dutch)
Experienced with closing deals

Motivated to learn basics of LCA

Able to translate client wishes into meaningful projects
Bonus points
Good communication skills in Dutch, both spoken and written
Experience in agri-food, LCA, or sustainability sector
Affinity with business development and project management
You have coached or guided junior colleagues
Experience in facilitating workshops for customers both online and offline
